Job summary

Currys is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own end-to-end availability, performance and resilience of customer-facing and core trading services. You will join a central SRE squad embedded with product engineering teams to design reliability from the start, defining SLIs/SLOs and automating toil.

A core focus is building Currys’ central AIOps platform: ingest telemetry, apply ML-based anomaly detection and predictive alerting, reduce alert noise, and drive AI-assisted diagnosis and

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills in at least one modern language (Python/Go/Java/PHP).
• Cloud platforms experience (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP valued).
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep observability and monitoring experience (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with AIOps capabilities such as anomaly detection or automated remediation.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement and report on SLIs, SLOs and error budgets with product squads.
• Design, build and operate the central AIOps platform with telemetry ingestion and event correlation.
• Build and evolve a modern observability stack (metrics, logs, traces) using open standards.
• Eliminate operational toil through code, CI/CD improvements and automated reliability testing.
• Lead major incident escalations and drive root cause analysis to permanent fixes.
