Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of the VolkerWessels UK Group, seeks a talented Quantity Surveyor to support a project in the Ambleside/Windermere area. The role is site based, reporting to the Commercial Lead and may involve guiding an assistant surveyor on delivery and compliance with contract requirements.

You will manage cost forecasting, valuations, and subcontract administration while ensuring timely payments and risk management.

Qualifications

Adequate experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
Experience with NEC forms of contract.
Experience within Major Civils/Infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
A relevant degree in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
An accredited course by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is required.

Responsibilities

Manage all commercial and contractual matters on the site.
Lead and manage procurement to maximise profit and ensure timely sub-contractor orders.
Monitor cash flow and main contract payments.
Produce monthly valuations and commercial reports as per policy.
Identify and manage scope and risks on an ongoing basis.
Be accountable for commercial involvement and programming at summary level.
