Job summary

VolkerStevin is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial team on major projects in the Warrington/Macclesfield area. You will take responsibility for all commercial and contractual aspects, ensuring robust risk management and profitable delivery.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will review main contract conditions, assess subcontracts, assist bid teams, and oversee pre-construction activities including procurement schedules and handover processes.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional qualification or QS degree with relevant experience.
• Senior QS with leadership in commercial teams.
• Experience in managing subcontracts and final accounts.
• Understanding of main contract conditions and risk.
• Strong procurement and pre-construction skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial team across projects.
• Review main contract conditions and assess risk.
• Assess sub-contract packages for main tender.
• Support bid team and senior management.
• Prepare procurement schedules and handover processes.
• Administer subcontracts and mitigate disputes.
• Provide client commercial contact and manage cash flow.
