Job summary

Veolia is hiring a Transfer Station Operative at Rochester (ME2 4NS). The role focuses on operating a Front Loading Shovel and a 360-degree Excavator to move waste, perform routine maintenance on mobile plant, and coordinate with site teams to maximise outgoing waste weights.

A full UK driving licence and prior operational experience are required. The position offers 43 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £30,000 per annum plus Veolia benefits, pension access, and health programs.

• Previous experience in an operational environment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front Loading Shovel and 360-degree Excavator to transport waste safely and competently after training.
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of mobile plant and equipment; oil and water checks; report defects.
• Liaise with site personnel, contractors, tipping authorities and haulage department.
• Load vehicles with waste and ensure outgoing weights are maximised.
• Control vehicle movements and operate the weighbridge.
