Veolia ES (UK) Limited in Rochester seeks a Transfer Station Operative. You will operate frontline loading equipment, perform routine maintenance, and liaise with site and haulage teams to maximise outgoing waste weights.

The role requires experience in a similar environment, mobile plant licences for loading shovel or 360 excavator, and a full UK driving licence. 43 hours per week, with Saturday shifts on a rota and benefits from Veolia.

• Operate the Front Loading Shovel and 360-degree Excavator to transport waste safely.
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of mobile plant and equipment.
• Liaise with site personnel, contractors and haulage department.
• To ensure that outgoing weights of material are maximised.
• Loading of vehicles with waste.
• Control vehicle movements.
• Operate the weighbridge.

Transfer station operative

Salary: £30,000 per annum, plus Veolia benefits Hours: 43 hours per week, Monday to Friday 05:00 - 13:30 and 08:00 - 16:30 Required to work every other Saturday. Some bank holiday shifts may also be required, for which a day in lieu will be provided, subject to minimum staffing levels being maintained. Location: Rochester Transfer Station, ME2 4NS

What you will be doing

• Operate the Front Loading Shovel and 360-degree Excavator to transport waste safely competently on completion of relevant training
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of mobile plant and equipment, including oils and water checks and reporting defects
• Liaise with site personnel, contractors, tipping authorities and members of the haulage department
• To ensure that outgoing weights of material are maximised
• Loading of vehicles with waste
• Control vehicle movements
• Operate the weighbridge

What we are looking for

• Previous experience within a similar operational environment
• Mobile Plant licence/s - loading shovel or 360 excavator
• Full UK driving licence
