Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc is seeking a site supervisor to drive safety and operational performance. You will manage staffing, resources, and ensure compliance with VMR and permits to work while delivering quality outcomes.

You will lead on safety culture, conduct site inspections, and support the management team to sustain proactive reporting of incidents and near-misses. The role emphasizes development and strong communication within a busy waste-management setting.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence is required.
• Experience supervising within a similar role.
• Strong relationship management and communication skills.
• Good time management and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve operational targets for Risk & Assurance and report accidents, incidents and near-misses via AVA.
• Plan and deliver day-to-day operations including staffing and resource allocation.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor for VMR and permit compliance.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and promote safe practices.
• Facilitate safety for visitors and contractors, including permits to work.
• Stop work and report safety issues.
• Lead by example to develop a proactive safety culture.
• Monitor team and site to ensure safe operations.
• Provide training and monitor staff to maintain standards.
• Provide feedback on close calls and encourage reporting.
• People management where required.
• Undertake personal development to enhance knowledge.
