Job summary

First Task Professional is seeking a Civils Site Manager to lead day-to-day site operations for groundworks and infrastructure projects in Scotland. You will ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery on site.

The role requires experience in civils/groundworks, strong earthworks and drainage knowledge, and a solid grasp of HSE requirements. SMSTS and CSCS are preferred; a clear progression path is offered within a respected contractor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Civils Site Manager within groundworks.
• Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage and infrastructure.
• Able to drive programme delivery and manage teams.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold) and First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing site teams, subcontractors and plant.
• Ensuring works are delivered on programme and within budget.
• Managing health and safety on site including RAMS and site compliance.
• Coordinating with engineers, clients and internal teams.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.

We are currently working with a well established and growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Civils Site Manager to join their team.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Projects will typically include:

• Groundworks packages
• Roads and infrastructure
• Drainage and utilities
• Commercial and residential developments

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing site teams, subcontractors, and plant
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and budget
• Managing health & safety on site, including RAMS and site compliance
• Coordinating with engineers, clients, and internal teams
• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
• Reporting progress to senior management
