Job summary

CDM Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a growing civils contractor delivering residential and infrastructure projects across the North East.

You will lead day-to-day site operations, manage subcontractors, oversee plotworks, roads and drainage, and ensure safety, quality and programme targets are met.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civils/construction.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Good understanding of groundworks and residential infrastructure.

Site Manager - Civils

Location: North East

Job Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established civils contractor delivering residential and infrastructure projects across the North East.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in plotworks, roads and sewers, with proven experience managing civils packages from start to finish.

The Role

• Managing day-to-day site operations across civils and infrastructure projects
• Supervising subcontractors, site teams and plant
• Overseeing plotworks, roads, drainage and sewer installations
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards
• Coordinating with engineers, subcontractors and project management teams
• Monitoring progress and resolving site issues
• Ensuring all works comply with health & safety and environmental requirements
• Completing site documentation, inspections and records

About You

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civils/construction
• Strong experience in plotworks, roads and sewers
• Good understanding of groundworks and residential infrastructure
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Able to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively
• Relevant site management qualifications, ideally SMSTS
• CSCS and relevant civils experience
