Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Surrey is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a long-term groundworks and civils project. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day site, coordinating 34 gangs and ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and to programme.

Responsibilities include coordinating labour, plant and materials, managing subcontractors, keeping RAMS and H&S up to date, and providing regular progress reports. Procore experience is desirable and CSCS/SMSTS are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Site Manager in groundworks and civils.
• Strong understanding of drainage, concrete and civil operations.
• Procore experience desirable; training available.

Site Manager - Groundworks & Civils

Location: Surrey

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Long-Term / Ongoing

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established groundworks and civils contractor on a long-term project in Surrey. The project involves groundworks and civil engineering works associated with a large building extension. The successful Site Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, coordinating multiple gangs and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate 3-4 groundworks/civils gangs working across site.
• Oversee daily site activities, ensuring works are completed to programme and specification.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and deliveries to ensure the project remains on schedule.
• Manage material and plant orders, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with RAMS, H&S procedures and site requirements.
• Monitor quality of works and ensure any issues are identified and addressed promptly.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and relevant project documentation.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular updates on progress.
• Ideally utilise Procore for site documentation, reporting and project management.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Site Manager within groundworks and civils.
• Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, concrete and general civil engineering operations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple gangs and subcontractors effectively.
• Good knowledge of health & safety requirements and site procedures.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Procore experience is desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Valid CSCS and SMSTS.
