Job summary

Virtual Hire Staffing is seeking a hands-on Site Manager for a specialist industrial roofing contractor. You will lead roofing projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, safe practices and high-quality workmanship across commercial, retail and educational sectors.

Location options include Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex, Sussex and Surrey, with commutable towns such as Worthing. Salary up to £50,000, company car, 33 days’ holiday, private healthcare and early finish on

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally within roofing or construction.
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems and installation techniques.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site activities and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and resources for timely completion.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and team members for smooth execution.
• Conduct regular site inspections and resolve delays promptly.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will oversee roofing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a strong understanding of roofing techniques, and the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost‑effective completion
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to facilitate smooth project execution
• Conduct regular site inspections and resolve any issues or delays promptly
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with plans, specifications, and industry standards
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, material orders, and site diaries
• Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration among site personnel

About You

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, preferably within the roofing industry
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices
• Valid UK driving licence

You’ll have a solid background within the roofing or wider construction sector, with experience delivering projects across commercial, retail, or educational settings.
