Building Careers UK Ltd is recruiting an experienced Site Manager to lead roofing projects in Leeds. The role covers permanent or freelance arrangements, with a salary from £45,000 and a company van for permanent staff.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day site activities, prioritise safety and ensure projects run to programme. You will oversee roofing teams and subcontractors, coordinate materials and RAMS, and maintain high standards of quality and client communication.

Qualifications

• Experienced Site Manager within roofing required.
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, especially flat roofing.
• Experience leading site teams and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of health and safety on construction sites.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Driving licence preferred; SMSTS/CSCS certifications advantageous.

Site Manager - Roofing

Location: Leeds
Salary: From 45,000 + Company Van

The Role

An established and growing roofing contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join their team in Leeds. The position is available on either a permanent or freelance basis, depending on preference and experience.

The company delivers a wide range of roofing projects across the commercial and construction sectors, with particular expertise in flat roofing systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager looking to join a forward-thinking business with strong plans for continued growth and genuine opportunities for career progression.

You will be responsible for the successful day-to-day management of roofing projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, to a high standard and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing roofing projects from commencement through to completion
• Overseeing site teams, subcontractors and labour
• Predominantly managing flat roofing projects, alongside other roofing systems
• Ensuring all works are completed safely and in accordance with RAMS
• Managing site health & safety and maintaining high standards
• Coordinating materials, plant, labour and subcontractors
• Monitoring project programmes and ensuring key deadlines are achieved
• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring works meet required standards
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other site stakeholders
• Attending site meetings and providing regular progress updates
• Managing snagging and ensuring projects are completed to a high standard
• Maintaining accurate site records and project documentation
• Identifying and resolving site issues efficiently

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Site Manager within roofing
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, particularly flat roofing
• Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
• Good understanding of construction health & safety requirements
• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications and programmes
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach to problem-solving
• Relevant site management qualifications such as SMSTS and CSCS
• A full UK driving licence
