Job summary

Dematic is seeking a skilled technician to support on-site resident contracts. You will service AMHE equipment, diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems, perform scheduled repairs, and maintain safety and quality standards while keeping thorough records.

The role requires working at height, shift work (days/nights), and delivering high-quality customer service on customer sites. This position offers development opportunities and a structured career path within Dematic.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred).
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred).
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical & electronic technical manuals & drawings.
• Basic understanding of control systems and PLC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with quality standards and time schedules.
• Undertake scheduled repairs per manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
• Diagnose faults and perform subsequent repairs (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC).
• Prioritise system faults and maintain safety compliance at all times.
• Record all work accurately and maintain quality output.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and sales opportunities.
• Maintain product flow and on-site spares at optimum levels.
• Represent the company professionally and maintain customer relations.

Principal Accountabilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
• To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
• Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
• Prioritise system faults
• To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times
• To ensure quality of output at all times
• To accurately record all work undertaken
• Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities
• Maintain product flow at all times
• To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels
• To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
• To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company

Knowledge & Experience Required

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred)
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
• Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
• Basic understanding of PLC equipment
• Working at height
• Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
• PC literacy
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
• Shift work (Days/Nights) is an expectation of the role

Technical Competencies (Or Local Equivalents)

• Ability to learn and retain technical information
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
• Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution
• Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
