Job summary

Dematic is looking for a Shift Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair and support equipment on customer sites within the intralogistics domain.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and PLC faults, perform scheduled maintenance, and ensure safety and quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • IOSH working safely (desirable).
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical & electronic manuals & drawings.
  • Basic understanding of PLC equipment.
  • Experience with conveyor systems.
  • Willingness to work at height.
  • PC literacy and basic software familiarity.
  • FEM and BS standards familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • To maintain, repair and support the equipment detailed within the agreed Dematic scope of contract on the Customers site.
  • Primarily ensuring delivery to both Dematic and the Customer’s expectations with the aim of achieving KPI targets at all times.
  • Undertake AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
  • To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
  • Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
  • Prioritise system faults
  • Compliance with Health & Safety legislation at all times
  • Ensure quality of output at all times
  • To accurately record all work undertaken
  • Involvement in continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities
  • Maintain product flow at all times
  • Ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
  • Adherence to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company

Contributing to the team

  • Basic understanding of control systems and problem solving techniques
  • Basic understanding of PLC equipment
  • Working at height experience and willingness
  • Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
  • Good level of PC literacy
  • Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
  • Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry
  • Have a continuous improvement mentality
