Job summary

Dematic is seeking a qualified technician to services AMHE equipment on client sites, ensuring adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations. You will diagnose faults, perform scheduled maintenance, and keep accurate records while supporting continuous improvement and customer relations.

Applicants should have ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, familiarity with PLC and electrical drawings, and the ability to work at heights.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
• Basic understanding of control systems and PLC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with quality standards and schedules.
• Undertake scheduled repairs per manufacturers recommendations and industry practices.
• Diagnose Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC faults and perform repairs.
• Prioritise system faults and maintain safety compliance at all times.
• Accurately record all work undertaken and contribute to continuous improvement.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Principal Accountabilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
• To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
• Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
• Prioritise system faults
• To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times
• To ensure quality of output at all times
• To accurately record all work undertaken
• Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities
• Maintain product flow at all times
• To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels
• To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
• To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company

Knowledge & Experience Required

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred)
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
• Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
• Basic understanding of PLC equipment
• Working at height
• Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
• PC literacy
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules

Technical Competencies (Or Local Equivalents)

• Ability to learn and retain technical information
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
• Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution
• Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
