Job summary

Dematic is seeking a dedicated on-site engineer to service AMHE equipment, perform repairs and diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems. You will work to manufacturer and safety standards, prioritise faults and maintain high output quality.

The role requires reading technical drawings, understanding control systems, and working at height, with a focus on professional customer relations and continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering required.
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship preferred.
• Reading and understanding mechanical/electrical/electronic manuals and drawings is essential.
• Basic understanding of control systems and PLC.
• Working at height required.
• Experience with conveyor systems desired.
• PC literacy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing to quality standards and schedules.
• Undertake scheduled repairs per manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical/electronic/ PLC/ PC faults and perform repairs.
• Prioritise system faults and maintain safe operation.
• Record all work accurately and maintain quality output.
• Represent the company professionally and maintain customer relations.
• Adhere to company quality processes and procedures.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Principal Accountabilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
• To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
• Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
• Prioritise system faults
• To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times
• To ensure quality of output at all times
• To accurately record all work undertaken
• Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities
• Maintain product flow at all times
• To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels
• To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
• To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company

Knowledge & Experience Required

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred)
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
• Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
• Basic understanding of PLC equipment
• Working at height
• Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
• PC literacy
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules

Technical Competencies (Or Local Equivalents)

• Ability to learn and retain technical information
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
• Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution
• Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
