About the role:

We have fantastic opportunities for you to join Thames Water at our wastewater treatment site on the outskirts of Oxford.

No prior experience in the Water industry is required. We welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

You will be part of a new frontline operations team covering sewage treatment sites. This essential front-line role is vital for our operations, working in all weather conditions to carry out tasks that ensure the wastewater treatment works function properly, maintaining supply and environmental safety. This includes maintenance of equipment to support plant operation.

What you’ll be doing as a Site Maintenance Operator
  • Performing scheduled maintenance on plant and equipment according to company standards to enhance resilience.
  • Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to meet operational and safety standards.
  • Responding to reactive repairs following equipment failures.
  • Maintaining site cleanliness and conducting safety and security checks.
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.

Location: Oxford STW - OX4 4YU

Working Pattern: 38 hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities paid additionally.

  • Quick response to faults, curiosity to understand problems, and ability to resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prepared to undergo safety training.
  • Full UK driver’s license.
