Job summary

Adore Recruitment Ltd, Essex-based main contractor, seeks an experienced Site Foreman / Working Foreman to lead day-to-day site activities across Essex. You will manage trades, subcontractors and site safety, driving projects to programme deadlines on commercial, refurbishment and new-build scopes.

This permanent role requires a hands-on manager with a strong trades background, SMSTS, and a proactive approach to problem-solving on busy sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role.
• Strong trade background with hands-on site leadership.
• SMSTS certification is essential.
• Solid understanding of construction health and safety practices.
• Proven ability to manage trades and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day activities on site and coordinate trades and subcontractors.
• Allocate work and keep the site team productive.
• Ensure work is completed safely, on programme and to high standards.
• Oversee toolbox talks, RAMS, and site procedures.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Contracts Managers, clients and subcontractors.
• Provide progress updates on labour, materials and delays.
• Lead site activity and drive project delivery.

Site Foreman / Working Foreman

Essex Based Main Contractor - Commercial Construction - Site Leadership

Southend-On-Sea, Essex

Permanent Position

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 + Company Vehicle

We're partnered with an established Essex-based main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering commercial, refurbishment, education, healthcare and residential projects across the region.

Due to continued growth, they're looking for an experienced Site Foreman / Working Foreman to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of projects across Essex.

This is a hands-on site leadership role for someone who has come from the tools, progressed into a supervisory position and still enjoys being involved in the work.

You'll be leading trades and subcontractors, keeping projects moving and ensuring work is delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard acting as the key person on site, coordinating the workforce and subcontractors while working closely with the wider management team to keep projects running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

• Running the dayto-day activities on site
• Leading and coordinating trades, site operatives and subcontractors
• Allocating work and keeping the site team productive
• Ensuring work is completed safely, correctly and on programme
• Monitoring workmanship and maintaining highquality standards
• Coordinating materials, deliveries and site requirements
• Overseeing toolbox talks, RAMS and general site procedures
• Identifying and resolving issues on site as they arise
• Liaising with Site Managers, Contracts Managers, clients and subcontractors
• Providing updates on progress, labour, materials and any potential delays
• Supporting programme delivery and keeping projects moving
• Getting handson and involved in the work when required

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Site Foreman, Working Foreman, General Foreman or Site Supervisor
• Strong trade background, having progressed from the tools into a supervisory role
• SMSTS - essential
• Good understanding of construction health & safety and site procedures
• Proven experience managing trades and subcontractors
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Practical, reliable and handson approach
• Ability to lead a team and take ownership of site activity
• Full UK driving licence
• Trade backgrounds including carpentry, brickwork, groundworks, roofing, plastering, drylining or similar would be well suited.
