Job summary

EA Associates is assisting a Norwich-based construction business to appoint an experienced Working Foreman with a strong carpentry background on a permanent basis.

This hands-on role requires you to lead by example, coordinate trades, and stay involved with carpentry work when needed. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, ensure safety, quality, and programme delivery, and mentor the site team on varied projects.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry background and hands-on construction experience.
• Experience as Foreman, Working Foreman or Senior Carpenter.
• Good knowledge of general construction practices.
• Ability to lead and motivate a site team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating trades and subcontractors on site.
• Working hands-on alongside the team when required.
• Carrying out carpentry and associated construction work.
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with project requirements.
• Managing day-to-day site activities and coordinating labour.

Job description

We are currently working with a well-established construction business in Norwich who are looking to appoint an experienced Working Foreman with a strong carpentry background to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who is confident leading a team on site while still being happy to get involved with the carpentry and wider construction work when required.

The Role

As Working Foreman, you will be responsible for helping to oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinating trades and subcontractors, maintaining high standards of workmanship and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

You will be expected to lead by example and have a strong practical understanding of carpentry and general construction.
