Job description

A new opportunity has arisen for a Site Facilities Officer to join the Site Facilities Team, primarily based at a CCC office in Cambridge, with periods at New Shire Hall in Alconbury Weald, and regular work across CCC sites throughout Cambridgeshire.

We seek a committed, self-motivated professional to support the CCC Facilities Management and Property Services team. The role involves monitoring maintenance cycles, minor repairs, liaising with contractors and helpdesk, security, building checks, visitor parking, deliveries, supporting corporate events, and ensuring buildings are safe, secure, clean, and fit for purpose.

Applicants should have experience in building facilities and customer service environments, with formal training in property and facilities health and safety preferred. The candidate must be proactive, work independently, contribute to team efforts, and possess excellent communication skills. A full driving license and flexible working are required.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Coordinate with Property Services helpdesk and external providers to ensure timely repairs and maintenance, adhering to SLA and safety standards.
  2. Manage contractor access, ensure safety procedures are followed, and maintain building security protocols.
  3. Inspect and report on building performance, ensure contractor compliance, and build stakeholder relationships.
  4. Maintain effective communication channels, participate in team meetings, and record meeting outcomes.
  5. Manage building information systems, monitor asset data, and report discrepancies.
  6. Act as a keyholder, attend sites during emergencies, and support maintenance activities.
  7. Regularly inspect building safety, raise and track repairs, and perform basic maintenance checks.
  8. Manage key systems, security, and support event logistics, including large-scale gatherings.
  9. Maintain building records, ensure cleanliness, and conduct routine safety tests like fire alarm checks and CCTV monitoring.
  10. Log and escalate complaints, monitor trends, and manage consumables and office moves.
  11. Support energy efficiency initiatives using BMS and engage contractors for energy-saving measures.
  12. Assist with civic functions, event support, and high-profile meetings, sometimes on short notice.

About you

Essential: 5+ GCSEs including English, Maths, Science; NVQ Level 1 or higher in Building and Maintenance or equivalent experience. Skills include planning, supervision, contract management, quality assurance, communication, efficiency, accountability, innovation, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
