Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a proactive Site Engineer to join a civil contractor delivering water treatment and infrastructure projects in Staffordshire. You will establish survey controls, perform daily setting out, and manage QA processes in line with contract drawings.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, 3+ years setting out on active schemes with robotic total stations or EDMs, CSCS card, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent professional qualification).
• 3+ years of setting out experience on active civil engineering schemes using robotic total stations or EDMs.
• Sound understanding of construction methods, health and safety standards, and QA management procedures.
• Active CSCS card; proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; cable avoidance techniques advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Establish primary level and survey control networks across site projects, performing regular verification checks.
• Execute detailed setting out for civil works in full compliance with contract drawings and specifications.
• Produce material procurement schedules, Task Briefings, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and 2-week look-ahead plans.
• Maintain precise site records, including daily site diaries, allocation sheets, and accurate as-built data.
