Job summary

AMB Recruitment Group is seeking a Site Engineer for civil engineering projects across Staffordshire and the surrounding region. The role involves taking ownership of design-to-site delivery, coordinating site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works meet programme, safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have UK civil engineering project experience, a strong background in highways or drainage, and proven RAMS/QA knowledge.

Qualifications

Proven experience on UK civil engineering projects.
Strong background in highways, drainage, infrastructure or groundworks.
Experience managing site activities and coordinating subcontractors.
Strong understanding of RAMS, QA processes and construction documentation.
Ability to manage sections of work independently and take ownership of delivery.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Confident using project software and IT systems.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Support project delivery from design and planning through to construction and handover.
Take ownership of projects and work packages with minimal supervision.
Prepare and manage RAMS, QA records and site reports.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, consultants and site teams to meet project requirements.
Monitor progress against programme and report on performance.
Coordinate subcontractors and multiple work fronts on site.
Ensure works comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
Mentor junior engineers where required.
Maintain quality standards across all stages of the project.
