Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure Clyde office is seeking a Site Engineer to join our team supporting a high-profile nuclear infrastructure programme in the UK. You will provide on-site engineering support, set out, supervise works, and ensure safety, quality and progress align with project requirements.

Reporting to the Senior Site Engineer, you will collaborate with site teams, review RAMS, locate buried services, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across a demanding, fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Experience on civil/infrastructure construction projects.
  • Knowledge of setting out and surveying practices.
  • Experience with GPS and setting-out instruments.
  • Awareness of QA/QC processes.
  • Knowledge of buried services location and safe excavation.
  • Ability to interpret RAMS.
  • Strong HSE awareness on site.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS 365.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification held.
  • CAT & Genny training
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of construction activities safely and efficiently.
  • Assist site teams in successful project execution.
  • Provide engineering support and guidance at the point of delivery.
  • Conduct setting out and survey activities using GPS.
  • Monitor quality standards across site operations.
  • Locate buried services to support safe work.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with specs.
  • Review RAMS and promote on-site HSE culture.
  • Assist with temporary works and follow procedures.
  • Record and report site progress and engineering information.

We are currently looking for a Site Engineer to join our growing team, supporting the delivery of one of the UK's most exciting nuclear infrastructure programmes. Working on a major infrastructure project, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of construction activities on site. Reporting to the Senior Site Engineer, you will provide engineering support at the point of work, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. As part of a long-term framework, this role offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Assist site teams in the successful execution of project works.
  • Provide engineering support and technical guidance at the point of delivery.
  • Conduct setting out and survey activities using GPS and surveying equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control standards across site operations.
  • Locate and identify buried services to support safe excavation and construction activities.
  • Supervise subcontractors and monitor compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Review and understand Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Promote a positive health, safety, and environmental culture on site.
  • Assist with temporary works activities and ensure compliance with relevant procedures.
  • Accurately record and report site progress, issues, and engineering information.
Essential
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience working within civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of setting out techniques and engineering surveying practices.
  • Working knowledge of GPS equipment and setting out instruments.
  • Experience of quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Knowledge of buried services location and safe excavation practices.
  • Ability to interpret and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements within a construction environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • CAT and Genny (buried services location) training.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
Desirable
  • Working towards membership of a professional institution such as ICE.
  • NRSWA qualification.
  • Temporary Works knowledge or Temporary Works Supervisor experience.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
