Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities for a major UK nuclear infrastructure programme. Based in Reading, you will mobilise and deliver engineering and construction packages, ensuring quality, compliance, and safe project progression.

You will develop and implement engineering processes, manage MEICA delivery, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to drive technical excellence across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Working towards or holding professional registration with the Engineering Council (IEng or equivalent).
• Strong background in project engineering and engineering management within complex infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing completions processes and supporting delivery through all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Experience overseeing MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) systems and their delivery.
• Ability to develop, implement, and improve engineering processes and assurance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of product quality, conformity management, and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting audits, reviews, and assurance activities within regulated environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and support multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from mobilisation through to commissioning and entry into service.
• Manage completions processes to ensure successful handover of systems and assets into operational use.
• Oversee product quality and conformity management, ensuring compliance with project, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering and assurance processes to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive technical excellence and effective project execution.
• Monitor and report engineering progress, risks, quality performance, and completion status to senior leadership.
• Support commissioning and operational readiness activities, ensuring systems are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Conduct audits and reviews to verify compliance with quality standards, engineering requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Provide leadership and guidance to engineering teams, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project delivery partners.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our growing team, supporting the successful delivery of a major UK nuclear infrastructure programme. Based in Reading, this is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile, technically complex project within a long-term framework environment.

As Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the mobilisation and delivery of significant engineering and construction packages, ensuring product quality, technical compliance, and successful progression through the project lifecycle. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will help develop, implement, and continually improve engineering processes that support safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery.
