Job summary

Astute People is recruiting a Site Completion Engineer for an Energy from Waste project in Essex on a long-term contract. The role requires 5+ years of construction experience on large industrial plants as a commissioning lead engineer, with strong P&ID/isometrics knowledge and HSEQ focus.

The candidate will lead final inspections, coordinate design changes, manage TOP reports, and ensure accurate as-built P&IDs are handed over. Essex site, daily rate around £700, outside IR35.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience within construction on a large-scale industrial plant as a commissioning lead engineer.
• Experience on Energy from Waste (EFW) plants and process/operation knowledge of thermal plants.
• Strong understanding of P&ID's isometrics, construction drawings and industrial process systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in construction final inspections (FIS) with the construction team.
• Coordinate potential design modifications with the Project Engineering Manager.
• Prepare and report progress on Turnover Packages (TOP).
• Coordinate piping support inspections and ATEX inspections with engineering, suppliers, and third-party certifiers.
• Ensure accurate as-built P&IDs are provided, collected, and transferred back to the Project Engineering Manager.
• Actively promote compliance with project HSEQ requirements across the team.
