Job summary

NRL Group is seeking a Site Completion Engineer for a major EfW project in Tilbury. The role focuses on commissioning, handover, and on-site management to ensure a smooth project completion and turnover of a large thermal plant.

Key requirements include 5+ years on large industrial projects, BOP/Boiler commissioning experience, and strong knowledge of P&ID and isometrics. The role is site-based in the UK with HSEQ accountability.

• Oversee piping support and ATEX inspections with engineers, suppliers and certifiers.
• Ensure accurate as-built P&IDs are collected and transferred to the Project Engineering Manager.
• Drive compliance with project HSEQ requirements across all activities.

Job Title Site Completion Engineer

Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Site Completion Engineer to join a major Energy-from-Waste (EfW) project in Tilbury, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong commissioning and site management expertise to ensure smooth completion and handover of a large thermal power facility. Location and Working Pattern

Thameside ERF, Tilbury, RM18 7SG, Essex, United Kingdom.

This is a full-time, site-based role reporting to the Site Construction Manager.

Client Overview

Our client is a leading engineering and construction specialist operating on complex energy projects across the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Participate in final construction inspections (FIS) with the site team.
• Coordinate design modifications with the Project Engineering Manager.
• Prepare and report on Turnover Packages (TOP).
• Oversee piping support and ATEX inspections, liaising with engineers, suppliers, and third-party certifiers.
• Ensure accurate as-built P&IDs are collected and transferred to the Project Engineering Manager.
• Drive compliance with project HSEQ requirements across all activities.

Must-have Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ professional experience, ideally as a commissioning lead engineer on large industrial plant projects.
• Proven BOP/Boiler commissioning experience on KVI or Energy from Waste plants with process knowledge of thermal plants (EfW, Biomass, Coal).
• Strong understanding of P&ID, isometric drawings, and industrial process systems.
• Proactive approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
