Job summary

Astute's Power Team is recruiting a Site Supervisor for a Mechanical Main contractor on conventional power projects across the South of England, including Milton Keynes, Suffolk and Bristol. The role is 6 months outside IR35 with a day rate of £350.00 to £400.00.

You will supervise steelwork and piping installation activities, lead welders and pipefitters, ensure works align with drawings and specs, and maintain HSE standards while coordinating with the Project Director and client

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities across the steelwork and piping installation packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Lead and oversee teams of welders, pipefitters and mechanical operatives, allocating work, monitoring productivity and maintaining high quality standards.
• Ensure all mechanical installation activities are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and applicable industry standards.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Director, client representatives and other contractors to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and maintain programme milestones.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inspections, promoting a strong health, safety and quality culture across the workforce.
• Monitor progress against the construction schedule, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to keep works on track.
• Support permit-to-work, RAMS, lifting operations and isolation procedures, ensuring full compliance with site and company HSE requirements.
• Carry out quality inspections, manage punch lists and oversee the completion of mechanical works through to testing, commissioning and final handover.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, labour returns, progress updates and material requirements.
• Previous experience supervising mechanical installation teams on conventional power stations, OCGT, CCGT, Energy from Waste or heavy industrial construction projects is highly desirable.

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor to join the Mechanical Main contractor across a number of Conventional Power Projects in the South of England including Milton Keynes, Suffolk, and Bristol on an initial 6 months basis outside of IR35.

The Site Supervisor position comes with a day rate of £350.00 to £400.00 outside of IR35.

• £350.00 to £400.00 per day (Outside IR35)
