Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse - Ward 3

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 role on Ward 3. We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to help coordinate the ward and assist the ward manager in maintaining high standards of patient care.

The post holder must be well-organized, effective in practice, capable of multitasking, and actively contribute to the development of the department.

1. Promote best practice for patients experiencing acute medical illness by liaising with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
2. Foster an enabling, empowering, and equitable culture, ensuring high-quality services are provided.
3. Participate actively in the daily clinical and operational management of the ward.
4. Ensure evidence-based care is delivered to agreed standards, demonstrating this through clinical and operational key performance indicators.
5. Understand the local and national nursing strategies, including the principles of Compassion in Practice and the 6Cs, and how these impact patient safety and quality.
6. Maintain effective records management, ensuring all documentation, written or electronic, complies with Trust and NMC guidance.
7. Ensure risk management policies and procedures are understood and implemented within the ward/department.
8. Record, report, investigate near misses, incidents, accidents, and medical device faults, and share learning from these events.
9. Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients, and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and protocols.
