We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who can use their initiative to support and develop the team on Washbrook Ward. A positive and flexible approach, along with the ability to support new ways of working, is essential.

Washbrook Ward is a diverse 27-bedded ward providing care for medical patients with various conditions. Patients typically have a predicted length of stay of under seven days.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the quality of patient care, develop, and influence the careers of team members. Excellent communication skills, patience, understanding, and recent professional development are required.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing leadership and teaching within the unit under the guidance of the Ward Sister.
  2. Supporting the Ward Sister in ward management tasks such as appraisals and 1-1s.
  3. Enabling staff to deliver high-quality, individualized care through knowledge, example, and education.
  4. Supporting and supervising nursing staff and coordinating resources effectively.
  5. Assisting in the provision of the Cardiac Monitoring Service across the hospital, including telemetry monitoring.
