We seek an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department at Royal Derby Hospital, one of the busiest AEDs in the country, seeing approximately 120,000 patients annually.
The Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse must possess excellent communication, organizational skills, and leadership qualities. The role involves working across all department areas.
The Emergency Department has expanded to include a 7-bed resuscitation unit, 7-bay initial assessment, 22-bay majors area, and additional capacity with a 9-bay cubicle area and large waiting room. Facilities also include an ambulatory area, triage rooms, assessment bays, and an Urgent Treatment Centre seeing up to 100 patients daily.
Take charge of departmental areas, ensuring efficient management, escalation of issues, and patient safety. Manage a small team, conduct annual appraisals, develop staff, and monitor mandatory training. Support staff health and well-being.
Our department is a Trauma unit with close links to the Major Trauma Centre in Nottingham and features a helipad. We work with universities and are committed to staff development. The department has received awards for clinical excellence and patient safety.
