Job summary

Samuel Frank is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join a specialist automation business near Runcorn. You will own complete control systems from concept and design through PLC programming and customer handover.

The role demands strong Siemens PLC programming experience and knowledge of logistics, warehousing and sortation. Hybrid work with some office days in Daresbury, and home-based PLC programming where suitable.

Qualifications

• Strong Siemens PLC programming experience, including writing software from scratch.
• Experience in logistics automation, warehousing, conveyors or sortation.
• Ability to develop control philosophy and FDS for complete systems.

Responsibilities

• Taking automation projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.
• Developing PLC software, primarily using Siemens.
• Producing Functional Design Specifications and control philosophy.
• Programming and modifying HMI systems.
• Testing, fault finding and commissioning at customer sites.
• Collaborating with sales, software and project teams during early project stages.
