Job summary

Axion Recruitment Limited seeks a Senior Controls Engineer for a Midlands-based hybrid role with a System Integrator. The candidate will lead Siemens PLC programming projects, develop bespoke software, and commission systems onsite across the UK, ensuring safety and client standards are met.

You will work on automation for warehousing and logistics, with responsibilities from design through to commissioning, and travel as required; a Level 4 technical qualification and driving license are

Qualifications

Strong use of Siemens TIA Portal and PLC programming knowledge.
Ladder logic, function blocks, DBs in Siemens environment.
HMI screen development experience.
Onsite commissioning experience for conveyor/automation systems.
Ability to travel within the UK for site work.

Responsibilities

Manage projects at engineering level in line with client lead times and standards.
Develop technical documents and software routines to operate machines safely.
Implement systems software standards while developing bespoke software.
Commission systems onsite in the UK and occasionally overseas.
Lead testing and quality checks before shipping and commissioning.
Collaborate with team to ensure project success and safety compliance.
