Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Westerleigh is seeking a reliable Shunter Driver to support our Despatch team with safe trailer movements around the site. This outdoor role involves daily inspections, fueling, and coordinating HGV movements to keep loading and dispatch on schedule.

The ideal candidate has previous shunting or lorry driving experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Full training is provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Previous shunting or lorry driving experience is essential.
• Safe and efficient work in a busy environment.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• High level of Health & Safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers safely between trailer park and loading bays.
• Carry out daily tug and trailer inspections and report defects.
• Ensure vehicles are correctly fuelled and refuel when required.
• Monitor temperatures of refrigeration units.
• Liaise with despatch, yard, goods-in and wash teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate HGV movements around site.
• Maintain clean and tidy loading bay and yard areas.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety, Hygiene and Company procedures.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
