Job summary

DHL is seeking a reliable Shunter to join our team at the DHL London Gateway. The role involves moving trailers safely between holding bays and doors, coupling/uncoupling, and performing safety checks. You will help maintain yard efficiency and support night shift operations.

Immediate start assessments available Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00. Valid HGV Class 1 licence required, CPC and tachograph cards, up to 6 points. Nights 18:00-06:00 with PAYE rate £28.66 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence required.
• Experience in shunting or yard movements preferred.
• Safety-first approach with ability to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between holding bays and doors.
• Couple/uncouple trailers, connect air lines and landing gear.

We are looking for a reliable Shunter to join our team at the DHL London Gateway.

Key Responsibilities

• Trailer Movement: Safely moving trailers between holding bays and warehouse doors.
• Coupling/Uncoupling: Connecting/disconnecting trailers, including air lines and landing gear.
• Safety Checks: Performing thorough inspections for defects before any trailer movement.
• Yard Efficiency: Maintaining an organized site to minimize risk and maximize loading speed.

Requirements

• Licence: Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) is required.
• Experience: Previous shunting or TUG experience is highly preferred.
• Mindset: A "safety-first" approach and the ability and flexibility to work the required shifts. There are possibilities for short notice shift availability or long-term plan.

Immediate start assessments Monday to Friday between 08:00-16:00.

Additional Requirements

• Hold valid appropriate License (C+E)
• No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, TT's or IN's)
• Hold valid Tacho and CPC cards
• At least 6 months road experience required.
