Job summary

School:Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to join our team at Ratton School Academy Trust, Park Avenue, BN21 2XR. This permanent, term-time only role supports attendance and engagement, working with school staff to deliver a programme of casework in line with the needs of the children and families we support.

You will build excellent relationships, communicate with parents and carers, and contribute to safeguarding pathways while focusing on improved learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in education settings to improve attendance and engagement.
• Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through group/individual support.
• Understanding factors affecting a child's ability to learn.
• Experience working with families from diverse communities.
• Experience in holistic family support.
• Knowledge of safeguarding processes and referral routes.

Responsibilities

Location: Ratton School Academy Trust, Park Avenue, BN21 2XR
Hours: 5 days per week, Term Time Only + inset days
Salary: A GBP 23,232 : A GBP 25,862 per annum ( This role is term:time only; the salary is in line with working weeks)

As the Family Support Practitioner, you will be based at the setting and work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship:building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.

Youll Have Previous Experience Of

• working in an education setting or similar to improve a childs school attendance and engagement in learning
• working and engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group:based support
• factors affecting a childs capacity to learn
• working with families from diverse communities
• holistic family support
• safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children
