Job summary

School-Home Support seeks a Family Support Practitioner based at Woodlands Primary School in Sheffield to deliver casework that promotes educational outcomes for children and families. The role focuses on improving attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning, working closely with school staff.

The successful candidate will have strong relationship-building and communication skills, experience in education settings, and an ability to engage with parents, carers and children from diverse

SHS Family Support Practitioner

Location: Woodlands Primary School, Sheffield S14 1SL

Salary: £21,694 - £23,232 per annum (This role is term-time only; the salary is in line with working weeks)

Vacancy Type: Permanent, 5 days per week, term time only - 35 hours per week plus inset days

We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team and to make a difference in children s lives every single day. As the Family Support Practitioner, you will be based at the setting and work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship-building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.

You Ll have previous experience of:

• working in an education setting or similar to improve a child s school attendance and engagement in learning
• working and engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support
• factors affecting a child s capacity to learn
• working with families from diverse communities
• holistic family support
• safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children
