Job summary

School-Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to join a school-based team at Ratton School Academy Trust. You will deliver a tailored programme of casework to promote educational outcomes and work closely with school staff to boost attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will liaise with families, carers and children, applying safeguarding practices and building relationships across diverse communities to provide holistic support.

Qualifications

• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.
• Experience of working in or with an education setting to improve attendance and engagement.
• Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals via individual or group support.
• Familiar with safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for children and families.
• Support attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning within the school setting.

SHS Family Support Practitioner (School-Based)

Location: Ratton School Academy Trust, Park Avenue, BN21 2XR

Hours: 5 days per week, Term Time Only + inset days

Salary: £23,232 - £25,862 per annum ( This role is term-time only; the salary is in line with working weeks)

We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team and to make a difference in children's lives every single day. As the Family Support Practitioner, you will be based at the setting and work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship-building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.

You’ll have previous experience of:

• working in an education setting or similar to improve a child's school attendance and engagement in learning
• working and engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support
• factors affecting a child's capacity to learn
• working with families from diverse communities
• holistic family support
• safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children
