Job summary

School-Home Support is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to be based at Ratton School Academy Trust, Park Avenue, BN21 2XR. You will work with school staff to deliver casework that promotes educational outcomes, and you will focus on improving attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with experience engaging families from diverse communities.

Qualifications

Experience in an education setting or similar to improve a child's school attendance and engagement in learning.
Ability to engage with parents/carers, children, or individuals through individual or group support.
Understanding factors affecting a child's capacity to learn.
Experience working with families from diverse communities.
Holistic family support and safeguarding processes/referral routes.

Responsibilities

Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for children and families supported.
Work in close partnership with school staff to coordinate support and improve attendance and engagement.
Focus efforts to help improve punctuality and engagement in learning.
Communicate effectively with a wide range of people and build strong relationships.
