Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd is representing a market-leading manufacturing company on Wirral for an Engineering Manager role. The position is hands-on, requiring active involvement on the shop floor to support engineers, drive improvements and ensure safety standards.

The successful candidate will lead the engineering and maintenance team, manage budgets, and collaborate with production and leadership to deliver reliable site performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a senior/engineering leadership role within manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong maintenance and reliability background.
• Comfortable providing hands-on technical support on the shop floor when required.
• Experience with CMMS development and maintenance systems.
• Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing experience.
• IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering and maintenance team
• Drive Health & Safety standards and engineering best practice
• Support engineers with technical issues, fault finding and breakdowns
• Develop training programmes and apprenticeship schemes
• Manage engineering budgets, projects and capital expenditure
• Monitor engineering KPIs and site performance
• Develop and improve the CMMS system
• Drive Continuous Improvement and reliability initiatives
• Work closely with production and senior leadership teams
