Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a Wirral site. You will lead the engineering team within an industrial manufacturing environment, owning safety, continuous improvement, and CMMS delivery.

The role reports to senior leadership and carries full accountability for department performance and spend. The successful candidate will drive CI/Lean initiatives, develop training programs, oversee apprenticeships, and ensure robust maintenance systems while coaching staff

Qualifications

• Engineering leadership experience in manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record developing teams and individuals.
• Experience applying CI / Lean principles in manufacturing.
• Project management experience in industrial settings.
• Experience implementing robust maintenance systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Focus on Health & Safety methods in manufacturing areas, driving improvements and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with staff and peers to maximise manufacturing efficiency.
• Support direct reports to ensure safe and efficient practices.
• Implement or develop robust training programs.
• Oversee apprenticeship programs offering training and coaching.
• Develop methodology to measure engineering performance.
• Own departmental spend on resources (projects, labour, materials, capital equipment).
• Establish real-time performance measurements.
• Oversee CMMS to deliver analytics.
• Coach staff for Continuous Improvement.

Role Description

• Focus on Health & Safety methods in manufacturing areas, driving improvements and continuously working on best practices

• Oversee apprenticeship programs offering the best training and coaching
• Develop methodology to measure engineering performance
• Full responsibility for departmental spend on resources (projects, labour, materials, capital equipment)
• Real time performance measurements
• Overseeing and developing a CMMS to deliver analytics
• Ongoing coaching and development of staff for Continuous Improvement

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 Years manufacturing experience within an engineering leadership role
• Track record of successfully managing and developing teams and individuals
• Experience in developing a robust Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Experience in applying CI / Lean principles in a manufacturing settingProject Management experience
• IOSH: Managing Safely qualification / Occupational Health & Safety qualification (Preferred)
