Job summary

Sue Ryder Care is seeking a Shop Assistant at Garforth, located in the East Side Retail Park. The role is part-time, on-site, with 22.5 hours per week across a Saturday/Sunday rota, and £12.71 per hour. The shop supports essential palliative care services and offers a strong community focus.

You will assist the manager and team, engage with donors and customers, and help maximise income while maintaining merchandising standards and a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and retail is essential.
• Strong communication and cash handling skills are important.
• Ability to work on a rota including weekends is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and performance against targets.
• Provide excellent service to customers and donors.
• Help build community relationships to generate quality donated stock.
• Maintain high standards of merchandising, housekeeping and health & safety.
• Manage stock and EPOS processes to keep the shop fresh and well presented.
• Champion the Sue Ryder brand in-store campaigns and fundraising initiatives.
