Hunter Selection is seeking a Shift Production Manager in Gloucester to lead a frontline production team across rotating day and night shifts. You will drive performance, safety, and quality, ensuring schedules meet customer demands while managing costs and implementing improvements.

The role requires strong leadership in a fast-paced FMCG/manufacturing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and people development.

Working a rotating day and night shift pattern

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Production Manager to join a well established manufacturing business in Gloucester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious leader with experience in a fast-paced production environment to join a business investing heavily in its operations and future growth. You'll be responsible for leading a production team, driving operational performance, and ensuring safety, quality and productivity targets are achieved.

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage and lead production teams across shift operations
• Drive performance against production, quality and safety KPIs
• Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met
• Lead, motivate and develop team leaders and operators
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor labour utilisation, efficiency and operational costs
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company procedures
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams to optimise performance
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager
• Strong leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
• Proven ability to manage KPIs and drive performance improvements
• Strong communication and people management skills
• Health & Safety focused approach
• Experience within FMCG, Food, Packaging, Automotive, Chemical or General Manufacturing environments would be advantageous
