Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd in Gloucester is looking for a Production Shift Manager to lead manufacturing operations on shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of production plans.

You will manage production teams, drive key KPIs such as OEE, waste reduction and quality, and take real-time decisions to maintain performance while upholding safety standards. This is an exciting career step for an experienced manufacturing leader in a fast-paced FMCG setting.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or food production.
• Strong understanding of health & safety, quality systems and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing teams, performance and change in fast-paced settings.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Organisational skills with ability to prioritise amid changing demands.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean methodologies.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical understanding advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production teams, driving performance and accountability.
• Deliver KPIs including OEE, waste reduction, quality, safety, and hygiene.
• Own shift operations and make real-time decisions to maintain production.
• Manage safety incidents, investigations, audits and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and reduction in waste.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and employee relations activities.
• Coordinate shift handovers and communicate disruptions clearly.
• Support training and succession planning within operations.

We are recruiting for a Production Shift Manager to lead manufacturing operations on shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of production plans. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production teams, driving performance, engagement, and accountability.
• Deliver key operational KPIs including OEE, waste reduction, quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Take ownership of shift operations, making real-time decisions to maintain production performance.
• Manage safety and quality incidents, investigations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and performance.Ensure production activities are completed in line with site standards and operational plans.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, absence management, and employee relations activities.
• Coordinate effective shift handovers and communicate operational disruptions clearly.
• Support training, development, and succession planning within operational teams.
