Job summary

Henderson Brown Recruitment invites applications for an experienced Shift Manager at a market-leading food manufacturer in the UK. You will own a busy production shift, lead a large team of operatives and technicians, and deliver targets while upholding food safety and quality standards.

The role involves overseeing Production Team Leaders, working across Engineering, Planning, Technical and Logistics to sustain 4 on-4 off days, 6am–6pm, and supporting long-term career development.

Qualifications

  • Previous shift management experience in food manufacturing/FMCG or fast-paced production.
  • Experience leading Team Leaders and large operational teams.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety.
  • Experience improving performance, efficiency or productivity.
  • Confident decision maker who develops people.

Are you an experienced Shift Manager looking to join a successful food manufacturer where you can genuinely make a difference?

We're recruiting for a market-leading manufacturer supplying many of the UK's biggest retailers and brands. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a busy production shift, lead a large team and play a key role in driving performance, safety and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage Production Team Leaders and oversee a team of around 55 Operatives and Technicians. You'll be responsible for delivering production targets, developing your people and ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality and operational performance.

What you'll be doing
  • Leading and developing Production Team Leaders and shift teams.
  • Delivering production plans safely, on time and to quality standards.
  • Driving continuous improvement and reducing waste.
  • Managing labour, productivity and shift performance.
  • Coaching, developing and motivating your team.
  • Managing performance, attendance and people development.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Planning, Technical and Logistics.
  • Maintaining excellent Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
What we're looking for
  • Previous Shift Management experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience leading Team Leaders and large operational teams.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety.
  • Experience improving performance, efficiency or productivity.
  • A confident decision maker who enjoys developing people.
Desirable
  • IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • HACCP or Food Safety qualifications.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
