Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd in Gloucester seeks a Shift Production Manager to lead a production team on a rotating day and night shift, driving safety, quality and productivity.

You will partner with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to deliver KPI targets and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced FMCG/manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Production Manager or similar in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Ability to drive safety, quality and productivity KPIs.
• Experience with FMCG or related manufacturing sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production teams across shift operations.
• Drive performance against KPIs for production, quality and safety.
• Ensure production schedules meet customer requirements.
• Develop and motivate team leaders and operators.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor labour utilisation, efficiency and costs.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance and company procedures.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to optimise performance.
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.

Working a rotating day and night shift pattern

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Production Manager to join a well established manufacturing business in Gloucester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious leader with experience in a fast-paced production environment to join a business investing heavily in its operations and future growth. You'll be responsible for leading a production team, driving operational performance, and ensuring safety, quality and productivity targets are achieved.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead production teams across shift operations
• Drive performance against production, quality and safety KPIs
• Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met
• Lead, motivate and develop team leaders and operators
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor labour utilisation, efficiency and operational costs
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company procedures
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams to optimise performance
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager
• Strong leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
• Proven ability to manage KPIs and drive performance improvements
• Strong communication and people management skills
• Health & Safety focused approach
• Experience within FMCG, Food, Packaging, Automotive, Chemical or General Manufacturing environments would be advantageous
