Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland invites applications for a Shift Plant Attendant at Leeds Generating Station. The role involves hands-on plant operation, safety leadership, and supporting the technical team on a busy site in Leeds.

You will work a complex three-on/three-off shift pattern with 12-hour shifts, days and nights, contributing to reliable plant performance. The ideal candidate has steam-raising plant or energy centre experience, BOAS preferred, and solid Health & Safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Steam raising plant or energy centre experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of Health & Safety at Work.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work and permit to work requirements.
• Must be physically fit for the job and able to undergo a medical examination.
• Be computer literate in Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operational control of the plant, correct and report any abnormalities, record plant performance and carry out routine operational duties.
• Promote an Excellent Safety Culture and the highest standards of operational performance.
• Operate any item of plant from local or Control Room as directed.
• Perform normal start up and shut down operations and adjustments to maximise efficiency and availability.
• Logging and monitoring of Plant condition.
• Fault finding and reporting.
• Working time: Complex shift pattern – three on, three off; Days & Nights, 12 hours per shift
• Operational surveillance of all plant and operation of systems to retain the required performance.
• Isolate plant in times of emergency.
• Carry out unsupervised routine maintenance, remedial work and maintenance of an immediate nature and general duties to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the plant.
• Operate the PPM system including the feedback of information and data.
