Job summary

Equans invites applications for an Apprentice EC&I Technician at the Leeds Generating Station complex. You will gain hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and commissioning electrical control and instrumentation systems within a CHP environment.

Supported by a mentor, you will develop through academic study and practical work, progressing toward a fully qualified EC&I technician. The role offers a clear development path within Equans’ embedded energy teams and across

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Mathematics, English and Science or equivalent.
• Demonstrated interest in electrical, controls and instrumentation technologies.
• Commitment to safety and health standards.
• Strong motivation to learn and develop technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Apprentice role focusing on skill development with onsite mentor.
• Assist with maintenance, calibration and testing of site equipment under supervision.
• Support installation, commissioning and testing of EC&I systems.
• Potentially support other DES sites to aid development and operations.
• Maintain safety procedures and use learned knowledge to interpret technical literature.
