Job summary

Encyclis Newhurst Energy Recovery Facility near the M1 in Leicestershire is seeking an Assistant Plant Operator to run a state-of-the-art waste-to-energy site. You will operate complex plant systems safely on rotating 12-hour shifts and support the maintenance team with routine tasks.

Ideal candidates have a technical/science background and hands-on experience with plant operations or maintenance, with training provided for cranes and mobile plant. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• The preferred level of education is to a National Vocational Qualification Level 2 or above in a technical or science subject.
• Relevant other qualifications with energy recovery or large process plant experience will be considered for the role.
• This role requires experience in either plant operations, process plant or maintenance.
• Preferable practical experience with large boiler and rotating plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate the facility in a safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner on a shift rotation basis.
• Promote, monitor and improve the site H&S performance, including PPMS and safety inspections.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the facilities operational procedures and risk assessments.
• Report Health, Safety and Environmental unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents to the Shift Team Leader.
• Undertake training to safely operate mobile plant and overhead cranes.
• Carry out basic first line PPMs and operational tasks and support maintenance activities.
• Support day shift operations and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Take deliveries of consumables and manage stock levels.
