Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is offering an Apprentice EC&I Technician role at the Leeds Generating Station complex. The apprentice will learn to install, maintain, troubleshoot and commission electrical control and instrumentation systems in a CHP environment, under supervision and with a dedicated mentor.

You will gain structured learning paired with practical application, developing the skills required to become a fully qualified EC&I technician while supporting the site’s operational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCSEs in Mathematics, English, and Science.
• Demonstrated interest in electrical, controls, and instrumentation technologies.
• Basic electrical knowledge is desirable.
• Commitment to safety and health standards.
• Strong motivation to learn and develop technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Role focuses on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of EC&I systems.
• Work with on-site mentor and develop hands-on skills throughout the apprenticeship.
• Assist with calibration and testing of instruments under supervision.
• Support site operations and other technical disciplines as needed to ensure stability.
• Potential to support other sites within the DES portfolio as development allows.
