Job summary

EVRi International in Peterborough is seeking a Shift Manager to lead the depot operations team during the evenings. You will run driver pre-briefs and de-briefs, ensure documentation is completed accurately, and maintain clear communication with drivers and customers via IT systems.

You will oversee resource planning, manage transport and fleet operations, and uphold health and safety procedures. The role requires hands-on leadership, effective problem solving, and the ability to handle

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team of Operations Controllers, overseeing resource planning and conducting driver pre-briefs and de-briefs.
• Manage transport, courier, and fleet operations efficiently to ensure service standards are met.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed in full compliance with site risk assessments.
• Oversee daily operations and promote operational best practices.
• Plan and allocate operational resources effectively in line with workload requirements.
• Monitor operational costs and lead investigations into claims or discrepancies.
• Handle and resolve any issues which arise, identify risks.
• Ensure daily communication takes place between shifts and ensure a correct ‘handover’ process is in place.

Position : Shift Manager

ContractType : Permanent – 45 hours

Location : Peterborough

Shift : Evenings / Monday-Friday Mon- Fri - 12.00 - 22.00

What you’ll do:

You will lead the depot operations team, with a focus on conducting effective driver pre-briefs and de-briefs. Ensure all driver and operational documentation is accurately completed and maintained.
