Job summary

EVRi International is seeking an individual for transport operations management at their Hub in Barnsley. Responsibilities include overseeing despatch activities, managing Transport Supervisors, and producing performance reports.

Applicants should have a strong knowledge of transport operations, and possess a full UK driving licence, along with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to health and safety is also essential.

Qualifications

• PC literacy with ability to produce detailed reports and analyze performance data.
• Full, current UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage despatch activities and ensure effective operation of Transport Supervisors.
• Oversee daily parcel despatch during peak periods and weekly B2C collections.
• Support the Transport Operations Manager in developing peak plans aligned to targets.

Job description

Location: Evri Hub, Barnsley

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – Days (typically 06:00-18:00, flexibility required)

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Transport Supervisors operate effectively, managing despatch activities and completing timely, high‑quality driver debriefs
• Managing a multi‑channel transport operation, despatching parcels daily through the primary network during peak periods and overseeing weekly B2C collections
• Supporting the Transport Operations Manager in developing and delivering peak plans aligned to forecasted volumes, automation changes, financial targets and resourcing needs
• Leading by example to create a high‑performance, people‑focused culture through strong employee engagement, regular 1‑2‑1s, performance reviews and team meetings
• Taking full accountability for Health & Safety and quality audits, including risk assessments and safe systems of work within the Hub
• Owning overall shift performance across compliance, service levels, H&S and employee engagement
• Producing detailed end‑of‑shift reports, root‑causing KPI failures and providing evidence‑based action plans to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• The ability to work on your own initiative and remain calm and decisive in a pressured, time‑critical environment
